This professional 300-hour yoga therapy program brings you the most effective aspects of traditional yoga and Ayurveda combined with modern medicine. Designed especially for yoga teachers from all traditions, for advanced practitioners, and for all healthcare professionals interested in mind–body wellbeing.

Specific guidelines for different conditions and general treatment principles will be detailed, empowering you to safely and effectively address health issues through yoga.

The Svastha Therapy Program runs internationally in more than 10 locations in the US, EU, AUS, NZ, HK, and SG. Its content is adopted by a large community worldwide. The program is authentic, clear and scientific; presented by one of the most respected lineages in yoga.

The program is delivered in 7 intensive modules (5 days for each module) with a flexible structure. Each module may be attended independently and certificates will be issued for each module. Every module aims to help you immediately apply what you have learned.

Svastha Sydney

Vina Shah and Giles Hooper have been personal students of A. G. Mohan and Indra Mohan since 1998. The Mohans awarded them an Advanced Diploma in Yoga and Ayurveda in 1999 and Diploma in Yoga Therapy in 2001.

Vina and Giles have been teaching general and personal classes since 1998, and running Svastha teacher training and other courses since 2001. Vina has also taught Svastha courses in Singapore and Chennai.

Leaving the practice of law to teach yoga was a natural transition for Vina who grew up with yoga and ayurveda as part of her lifestyle. Vina specialises in Yoga therapy, women’s health and teaches Sanskrit to yoga teachers. Currently Vina is furthering her studies in Sanskrit through an MA (Research) in Yoga and Meditation at the University of Sydney.

Giles, formerly a lawyer, had practised with different schools of yoga for several years before studying with the Mohans while on a year’s sabbatical in India in 1998. His particular interests are in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and Meditation. Giles is currently pursuing further studies in Sanskrit through a PhD in Yoga and Meditation at the University of Sydney.

Group Yoga Classes

Like other yoga schools, we teach classical yoga postures. However our approach is different as we emphasise proper breathing combined with movement as the breath is the link between the body and mind. Each yoga class focusses on developing strength and flexibility of the body as well as calmness and clarity of the mind. We keep student numbers small to ensure each person receives the optimal benefit.

Cost of group classes for a term: $180 (10 classes)

Personal Yoga Classes

Personal or one–to–one classes are ideal if you want to learn practical ways to create positive changes in your life. Individual practices are not only designed to meet your specific needs but also take into account your existing commitments and lifestyle.

An effective daily practice can be as short as 15 minutes or up to an hour in duration. Guidance on ayurvedic nutrition and lifestyle to further support your practice can also be included.

Your practice can be designed for any of a variety of purposes including:

  • general health and fitness;
  • stress relief;
  • weight reduction;
  • back and neck pain;
  • women’s health including pregnancy and menopause;
  • meditation.

NSW – Lightning Ridge

Viki Murray began her yoga teacher training with Svastha Yoga Ayurveda, Sydney in 2004. She holds a diploma in The Art & Science of Yoga and certification in Yoga Therapy with Svastha Yoga Ayurveda, Sydney and is an accredited teacher with YTTA. Viki returned to Chennai in 2004, 2005 and 2011 for further intensive study programs in yoga therapy and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras with A.G. Mohan and Indra Mohan.

Since 2003 Viki has taught Svastha workshops, regular group programs and personal classes in the opal mining town of Lightning Ridge, North West NSW. She periodically holds classes on isolated, pastoral/outback stations as well as presentations and programs on Yoga for Women’s Health in surrounding indigenous communities.

Viki has also been teaching Yogic Mindfulness since 2016 after successfully completing Yogic Mindfulness Program with Indra and A G Mohan. She continues to study with Vina for her own personal transformation and development as a teacher.

NSW – Sydney

Bronwyn Forsyth holds a Diploma of Yoga Studies & Teacher Training and the Advanced Diploma. She is accredited as a yoga teacher with Yoga Australia. Bronwyn teaches Svastha Yoga and continues with her practises and studies of the ancient teachings of yoga under the guidance of Vina Shah. She has attended Indra and AG Mohan’s workshops and is currently undertaking the Svastha Yoga Therapy course with Dr Ganesh Mohan.

Bronwyn teaches group and personal classes in Balmain. She also enjoys teaching Svastha Yogic Mindfulness & Meditation classes in workplaces.

NSW – Port Macquarie

Liz Condon began yoga over 10 years ago with Svastha Yoga Sydney and began teaching in Sydney after completing the Wellness and Teacher Training program run by the Mohans in Chennai, India in 2013.

Liz has now relocated to Port Macquarie where she continues to teach and work as a radiographer. She has attended all the workshops run by the Mohans in Sydney since 2013 and continues to study with Vina for her own personal growth, and her progress as a teacher.

QLD – Buderim, Sunshine Coast

Kim Allan runs the Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda Wellness Centre on the Sunshine coast with her husband Scott. She has been teaching Yoga for over 15 years and has been a certified Svastha Yoga teacher since 2011. In 2015, Kim completed Svastha Yoga Therapy Program with Ganesh Mohan and since then she has been teaching small group therapy programs and workshops.

Kim has also been teaching Yogic Mindfulness since 2016 after successfully completing Yogic Mindfulness Program with Indra and A G Mohan. She continues to study with Vina for her own personal transformation and development as a teacher. Kim also continues online studies with Indra and A G Mohan.
